Last Monday April 6th of 2020, the Center for Respiratory Diseases in Puerto Vallarta (Blvd. Fco. Medina Ascencio 2760, Zona Hotelera Norte) opened its doors and it is completely equipped to offer services 24/7.

To learn more about this project, the staff of Vallarta Lifestyles interviewed Ing. Carlos González, operations manager of Grupo Médico Joya, who shared that this Center for Respiratory Diseases is an extension of Hospital San Javier Puerto Vallarta.

“The Center for Respiratory Diseases is fully equipped to receive and take care of patients that presents symptoms related to COVID-19, we have plenty masks, biohazard suits, oxygen, mechanical ventilators, vital signs monitors and resuscitation equipment for all six beds of the intensive care room”, he explains.

González added that, in addition to the intensive care room this Center for Respiratory Diseases, offers 12 more beds installed in isolated spaces to provide attention to patients under less critical conditions.

“Despite how quickly this project was built (14 days), solid and durable materials were used to guarantee a safe space that can continue its operations indefinitely. Through this initiative, we are preparing to protect different patients who need medical attention, because by having a special and isolated area it is possible to avoid the spread of this virus.”

Before concluding, González mentioned that up to now, the Center for Respiratory Diseases in Puerto Vallarta remains without patients, but with professional medical and nursing personnel, ready to help whoever needs it.

“We have been clients of Vallarta Lifestyles since 1999, the year in which we arrived to this destination. Back then, it was the only publication where you could really do local marketing. These days, in spite of the arrival of new technologies, we keep advertising, because it is a really important complement for our marketing strategy.”

“When I first opened my gallery in 1986, my relationship with Vallarta Lifestyles started for the need of people to know me and, because it is one of the very few quality publications in the destination, I decided to advertise in it. There are clients that still remember me for the magazine, with whom I have had several years of relationship.”
