Friends of Puerto Vallarta Animals will be hosting the third annual Paws for the Cause on Wednesday, March 2, from 6 to 10 pm, at the recently opened Food Truck Park. The event promises an evening of food, fun, music and prizes all for the benefit of local shelter animals. Friends of Puerto Vallarta Animals is a support group for Centro de Acopio Animal, otherwise known as the City Pound. The volunteers of this group contribute in various ways, including walking, feeding, and bathing the dogs. Others work in the cattery and clean litter boxes. The organization also helps out with grounds upkeep at times. Their most important goal is socialization of the animals with an aim to make them adoptable.

Centro de Acopio Animal is a government run animal shelter, and the first no-kill shelter in Mexico. The city provides the facility and staff, but has little or no funds for food and medicines. That is where Friends of Puerto Vallarta Animals steps in, taking care of the medical bills that accrue due to veterinarian care for critical cases. There are also programs for sending animals to Canada and the U.S.

The Food Truck Park is located at Francisco Medina 2450 (between Puerto de Luna and the carnival). Tickets are 350 pesos and are available at Cassandra Shaw Jewelry, Marsol Hotel Friday Market (9:30 am to 1 pm Fridays), Adriana Riestra Design Interiors (322) 209-2159 or online at www.friendsofpvanimals.com. Tickets will also be available at the entrance to the event.

“Vallarta Lifestyles has readers from Punta de Mita to Mismaloya and beyond, so announcing my business, means the positioning and recognition of my agency throughout the region. The contents of the magazine are very interesting, because they provide relevant information about activities in the destination. I am pleased to see it at hotels, restaurants and galleries, but what excites me the most is to see people with their issue in hand. That is really relevant for us.”

“Since its beginnings and until today, the quality in photography and editorial design of Vallarta Lifestyles is unrivaled, because there’s nothing similar in this region of Mexico. Besides, to the foreign community that visit us, this magazine is essential if they want to know what’s new and what’s going on in our destination.”

“Vallarta Lifestyles speaks for itself, it’s a good quality publication with great image, that’s why we have advertised since we started our business. Without any doubt, it is the most read magazine. Its articles and advertising are target to the audience we’re looking for. Vallarta Lifestyles has grown the same way Puerto Vallarta has.”
