Westin Promotes Day Pass With Additional Perks

The Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta has long been one of our destination’s preferred Gran Turismo resorts. This summer, the Marina Vallarta resort is hoping to entice locals to enjoy a day of rest and relaxation with extra perks for families and those looking to pamper themselves with the resort’s extensive spa services menu.

While most local hotels and resorts provide day pass options year around—subject to availability—it is not uncommon for them to boost their offerings during the Summer months, when occupation is somewhat lower and, in some cases, remodeling and improvement projects are underway. Such is the case of the Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta. One of the resort’s swimming pools is undergoing improvements that will continue until October, but this does not take away from an amazing experience, according to Pilar Ramírez, who oversees their pool cabanas, Family Kids Club and Spa services.

“Being in harmony with our surrounding nature has always been a top priority for us here at the Westin,” she explains. “The property was built in a former coconut plantation, so not only were all the original trees protected when the hotel was built; they are numbered, and there are over 600 of them throughout our gardens.

“Combining our basic day pass with additional benefits available through the Spa and the Family Kids Club, we offer the perfect mini-staycation for families with children and those looking for a day of health and pampering.”

The day pass at the Westin costs $350 pesos for adults and $200 for children, with $100 and $50 pesos credited for food and beverage consumption, respectively. This includes the use of the pool area, restaurants, beach services, cabanas and Family Kids Club. The day pass is available from 10 am to 7 pm, providing plenty of time to enjoy the property and its amenities, including the Family Kids Club and Spa.

The Family Kids Club is a special area within the resort with unique educational and recreational activities for children, who are constantly supervised, allowing parents the choice of looking after their children, or taking some time for themselves. Hotel guests can have access to the Family Kids Club throughout their stay, while day pass families can use the facilities for up to three hours, and parents or guardians must remain in the hotel at all times.

When it’s time to eat, the hotel’s restaurant features (air conditioned) indoor and outdoor seating, plus a very special kids menu, in which children have the option to help prepare their meals. “We’ve found that inviting children to get involved with their food preparation adds an unexpected level of fun,” adds Pilar. In addition, the restaurants offer additional food discounts for day pass guests.

The Westin’s beach area is one of the nicest in Marina Vallarta, and the gardens next to the pool and ocean feature comfortable cabanas that can also be enjoyed during your day pass experience. “Usually these are reserved for hotel guests, but more often than not, we are able to extend their use to day pass guests during the Summer months.” In order to offer guests a taste of the resort’s spa services, some cabanas are configured to offer outdoor massages in complete privacy.

Those looking for a complete day that combines recreation, health and pampering, can also take advantage of the Westin’s spa and health club services through special discounts. The resort’s fitness area offers state-of-the-art weight training machines, and special cardiovascular training areas with treadmills, climbers, elliptical machines and a spinning studio. Day pass access to these facilities is an additional $200 pesos per person, which also includes access to the shower, sauna and steam room areas.

Finally, for those looking to truly pamper themselves, the Westin offers a very diverse offering of spa and massage treatments, with six massage cabins, each outfitted to offer a different type of treatment. These services are optional to day pass guests, and available with very attractive discounts.

In short, a “day-cation” at the Westin is a perfect option for locals looking to take a break from their normal activities, and ideal for those that enjoy combining different types of activities on a day off. To reserve a day pass at the Westin, simply call the concierge at (322) 226-1100. If you wish to take advantage of additional offerings at the spa, simply stop by and request a tour.

Of the 30 years that the magazine has been in circulation, we have been advertising for 23 years and without any doubt, it has been worthy for the big positioning that we have achieved. Besides, the quality of contents its unique in this area.”

“Vallarta Lifestyles has readers from Punta de Mita to Mismaloya and beyond, so announcing my business, means the positioning and recognition of my agency throughout the region. The contents of the magazine are very interesting, because they provide relevant information about activities in the destination. I am pleased to see it at hotels, restaurants and galleries, but what excites me the most is to see people with their issue in hand. That is really relevant for us.”
