Just a few blocks from Sayulita’s sun-drenched beach, Don Bonito Hotel is a nine-room boutique oasis where design, relaxation, and high aesthetics converge effortlessly to create an intimate, elegant, and memorable escape.
Since opening its doors in 2017, the hotel has turned heads with a design concept inspired by the 1950s and 1970s, blending Art Deco flair with Mid-Century Modern influences. The custom-designed furniture perfectly complements an architectural layout that prioritizes natural light and open-air spaces, inviting guests into a state of mindful relaxation.
One of the property’s most distinctive features is its sensory identity, with a signature fragrance throughout the common areas and guest rooms that elevates the sense of exclusivity. “Our amenities round out the stay with a central swimming pool, a specialty coffee shop, and a rooftop terrace that hosts yoga sessions and offers the perfect setting for meditation or relaxation,” shares proud owner Rodrigo Peña Segovia, who collaborated with top-tier architecture and design minds like Pauline Dornic and Oscar Mora to bring the vision to life.

ALMA SURF LODGE

Alma Surf Lodge is an elegant boutique hotel brought to life through the distinct architectural vision of Matthew Lambert. Originally from Arkansas, the architect personally designed every corner of this project, which aspires to be a sanctuary for both communion and community. “This is a concept that offers a high-end experience at an approachable price point, inspired largely by my extensive travels throughout Europe,” he explains.
The property’s name is a poetic play on words, defining its essence as “lodging for the soul” (alma). Since its opening in October 2025, the lodge has distinguished itself through an interior design that pays homage to Mexican craftsmanship with a nostalgic, mid-century nod to the 1970s. “I collaborated with artisans from across the country; the rugs are sourced from Oaxaca, and many furniture pieces were custom-crafted in Guadalajara. We wanted to embody the spirit of Mexico in every detail,” he says.
With only nine guest rooms, the property prioritizes intimacy and highly personalized service, facilitating everything from private airport transfers to specialized surfboard transportation. The culinary offering, featuring artisanal executions of American-style classics, complements a vibrant social agenda that includes professional Pilates classes and spirited salsa nights.
HOTEL BOUTIQUE SIETE LUNAS

At the southern end of Sayulita, there is a hidden refuge that invites you to stop and breathe deeply. The Hotel Boutique Siete Lunas is a place suspended between the lush green of the jungle and the deep blue of the Mexican Pacific. “Being a boutique hotel, the experience is based on pampering our guests in a rustic environment,” explains Teresa Nolasco, manager of Siete Lunas. Other thoughtful touches include sunrise yoga classes, relaxing massages, tours to explore the region, and an exclusive kitchen where special dishes are featured daily.
A large communal palapa offers a panoramic view of Sayulita bay, which offers an unforgettable view during sunsets. And at night the connection with the name of the hotel is made clear as the moon reflects on the ocean like something from a movie scene.
