Puerto Vallarta is one of the preferred destinations for national and international visitors, which is reflected in the record-breaking numbers registered in the arrival of air passengers at the city’s International Airport.

Since the beginning of 2022, our destination has experienced an increase in the arrival of visitors; however, during the month of May, Puerto Vallarta has registered historical figures that exceed the numbers obtained in 2019 (prior to the start of the pandemic).

Last month, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport received a total of 489,000 passengers by air, while in May of 2019 the destination registered an arrival of 362,200 people, an increase of 35 percent.

Of those passengers, 233,100 people correspond to the national market (in 2019, the arrival of 157,800 travelers was registered, which represents an increase of 47.8 percent).

For its part, the international market registered the arrival of 255,900 passengers last May against the 204,500 people who arrived in 2019, which means an increase of 25.2 percent.

Likewise, according to the Federal Tourism Secretariat, Puerto Vallarta is among the top 5 Mexican destinations with the best hotel occupancy registered from January to April 2022, with an average of 74.5 percent.

Finally, Allianz Travel, a leading travel assistance company, pointed out that, derived from an annual study on the favorite places to visit, Puerto Vallarta is located among the three preferred national destinations for American visitors during the summer season.

“Vallarta Lifestyles, from its inception has been a quality reference. In some way, it has managed to consolidate the destination because all our restaurants where there and we communicate as an exchange platform. The benefit, besides advertisement and recommendation, is that this publication is a solid copy of Puerto Vallarta’s evolution. If you pick up an old issue, immediately you’ll recall precious memories.”
